Tipstor is a global problem solving organization. Through Tipstor, we seek to implement solutions to critical societal problems. Our work is conducted alongside a small group of exceptional people called Tipstor.
We believe the most consequential decisions in human history will be made during the next 50 years. To meet this critical moment, the world needs new institutions designed for the radically shifting dynamics of the 21st century. We aim to be one.
MISSION
Tipstor operates projects around the world. The projects have one goal: to identify solutions to global problems and implement them.
We believe the most consequential decisions, threats, and opportunities humanity has ever faced will take place during the next 50 years. Tipstor’s purpose is to find solutions to these challenges and implement them through projects.
Tipstor Projects we lead and support are not biased by field or methodology. Our focus is to implement solutions in the most effective way possible, from non-profit and legislative efforts, for-profit investments and business creation, to the development of new movements and technologies.
PROJECTS
Proactive versus reactive.
To do this — from discovering and developing new ideas to analyzing, funding and operating them as projects — Tipstor works with an exceptional group of people called Tipstor Members.
Tipstor Membership is a vibrant community of some of the world’s most capable leaders, ranging from Nobel Prize-winning scientists and activists to artists, technologists, explorers, business leaders and more. Beyond advancing individual projects, the members meet around the world and across disciplines to share ideas through Tipstor meetings.

Tipstor sells no products, offers no services, and partners with external organizations only to implement projects. We’re based in Los Angeles and New York City, with a global membership.
STRUCTURE

Tipstor is a private organization independent from any government, corporation, or political party. We do not exist to promote the interests of any government, corporation, or political party. Tipstor sometimes makes grants to other non-profit institutions. As a matter of policy, we permit a maximum of 10% of our grants be used to cover the overhead costs of these institutions.
Tipstor’s membership is merit-based, and members do not pay a fee, nor do they earn fees, for their participation. Tipstor Foundation is in the process of registering as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation. Tipstor was founded in 2008 by Marc Ford. Tipstor does not espouse or endorse any political, economic, or religious beliefs. Instead, we aim to represent viewpoints and experiences that may sometimes conflict or overlap, in order to establish dialogue and encourage innovative ideas.
