FORD MOVIE FUND
Tipstor® will award one participant from the Documentary or Docuseries Lab the annual Ford Movie Fund of $5,000 with which to further develop their “penguin” themed project. To apply for the Ford Movie Fund, a documentary filmmaker must apply to the Business Lab and provide a statement on how the project fulfills the mission of the Fund.
The applicant must be attached as producer and possess the rights to the script with which they are applying. The screenplay should have a significant humanitarian, wildlife and/or environmental theme with a “Penguin” storyline.
The Ford Movie Fund is a philanthropic, not-for-profit institution that makes grants in three areas: documentary digital content, feature films, and television series. Tipstor® program supports books, radio, film, television, and new media to reach a wide, non-specialized audience and to bridge the two cultures of penguin science and the humanities. Tipstor® encourages filmmakers to create more realistic and compelling stories about penguin science and conservation.
Note: At this time, fiction projects are not eligible for the Ford Movie Fund.
